Dr. Dencho N. Batanov is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Frederick University Cyprus. Prof. Batanov has received his basic degrees and PhD in Computer Science in 1970 and 1975 respectively from the Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria, where he has been a Head of Department of Programming and Computer Applications and Director of Computer Center. From 1992 to the end of 2005 he has worked as Associate and Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Management of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand.

His current teaching and research interests include Programming, Object Orientation, Distributed Computing, Database Systems, Software Engineering, Web Technologies, Knowledge-Based/Expert Systems, and Information Technologies in Business, Management and Education. He has served as consultant and delivered invited courses on the above topics for many organizations in different countries of Asia and Europe as well as supervisor of a number of international research projects and PhD students.

Prof. Batanov is a member of ACM and IEEE, member of IEEE Technical Committee of Programming Languages, and expert of UNESCO and the Asian Productivity Organization. He is author and co-author of more than 150 publications in journals and conference proceedings as well as a number of textbooks and manuals.
