== Creating a New Slot ==

A new slot is created with a generic name,
such as newspaper_Slot_1.
There are three ways to create a slot:

<li><p>
By clicking the Create Slot
[[Image:PrF_UG_slots_slot.create.gif|slots_slot.create]]
[[PrF_UG_slots_slot_buttons|Slot button]]
in the Slot pane of the
[[PrF_UG_slots_slots_tab|Slots Tab]].
This creates a slot,
but does not assign it to any class.
The slot can later be
[[PrF_UG_slots_attach_slot|attached]]
to one or more classes.

<li><p>
By right-clicking in the
[[PrF_UG_slots_slot_browser|Slot Browser]]
in the
[[PrF_UG_slots_slots_tab|Slots Tab]]
and selecting <b>Create slot</b> from the
[[PrF_UG_slots_slot_menu|Slot menu]].
This is identical to the previous operation.

By selecting a class in the
[[PrF_UG_classes_classes_tab|Classes tab]]
and then clicking the <b>Create Slot</b>
[[Image:PrF_UG_slots_slot.create.gif|slots_slot.create]]
button in the
[[PrF_UG_classes_template_slot_pane|Template Slots pane]].
This creates a slot and
[[PrF_UG_slots_attach_slot|attaches]]
it to the selected class.

You can use the

to
[[PrF_UG_slots_editing_slot_properties|edit the properties]]
of the slot.
