== Converting a Project to Another Project Type ==

{{PrF_UG_TOC_projects}}<div id='prf_ug'>

You can convert a {{#var:PrF}} project from one backend format
(project type)
to another.
You will see no difference in the {{#var:Pr}} interface when you work with your project,
but all changes to to the project are stored in the new format.

You can convert between the following {{#var:PrF}} formats:

<li>
{{#var:Pr}} Files (the default) creates two text files in {{#var:PrF}} format.

<li>
{{#var:Pr}} Database creates the project as a table in a JDBC database.
To do this,
you must have a database installed and configured on your system.

Experimental XML saves the project in XML format.

[[PrF_UG_files_rdf_support|Experimental XML Format]].

Note: You can also convert a {{#var:PrF}} file to
[[PrF_UG_files_owl_support|{{#var:PrO}}]]
format and vice versa.
In this case,
however,
you will see a significant difference,
because of the differences between the {{#var:PrF}} and {{#var:PrO}} capabilities and interfaces.

To convert a {{#var:PrF}} file to a different format:

Select the format you want in the Select Format dialog box.
