== The Instance Buttons ==

The Instance buttons,
[[Image:PrF_UG_inst_instance_buttons.png|instances_instance_buttons]],
located at the top right of the
[[PrF_UG_inst_instance_browser|Instance Browser]],
allow you to
[[PrF_UG_inst_display_instance_editor|view/edit]],
[[PrF_UG_classes_references_window|view references to]],
[[PrF_UG_inst_creating_an_instance|create]],
[[PrF_UG_inst_copy_instance|copy]],
or
[[PrF_UG_inst_deleting_an_instance|delete]]
an instance.
Note that these icons have a similar action wherever they appear.

The buttons have the following actions:

If the View Instance or Delete Instance button is grayed out,
this indicates that the current instance cannot be edited or deleted.
Such an instance always has a pale icon to its left.
Instances cannot be edited if they are included from another project.

If the Create Instance button is grayed out,
no instances can be created for the class selected in the
[[PrF_UG_inst_class_browser_at_instances|Class Browser]].
This is the case if the class is
[[PrF_UG_classes_class_editor#The_Class_Role_Menu|abstract]],
shown by a class icon with a hole,
e.g.

or
[[Image:PrF_UG_classes_class.metaclass.abstract.gif|classes_class.metaclass.abstract]].
